Project:

Cassila Residence

October 2018

Vaughan, Ontario

Mood Board

The first phase of a two-phase project involved designing the master suite of a townhome in Vaughan. We wanted the master suite to feel very relaxing with a calm palette that takes advantage of the view outside. This home backs on to a ravine and we wanted to let that vista come into the space uninterrupted.

In the bedroom, we designed a headboard within a headboard to make a bolder statement using muted colours and used lots of neutrals with a pop of purple to play with the scheme downstairs that unifies the entire home.

Phase 2 of our Cassila Residence Project creates a functional and fun layout for the homeowner’s ground floor. A round table in the dining room creates a democratic atmosphere where everyone is equal and is great for game nights.

Purple and red are predominately used in the space as it was inspired by our client’s own needle felting work and a love of red. The dark hardwood floors and wood kitchen cabinetry make the space feel very dramatic and elegant with pops of darker feature walls so the space still feels bright during the day.
